A short and sweet post here to recognize Mr. Ed Harsch, most notably as keyboardist for the Black Crowes via second album Southern Harmony and Musical Companion up through 2006 or so. His work throughout “Descending” is a thing of beauty and a masterwork of subtle playing. Rest in peace…

Speaking of top 5 band faves, this song is easily in my top 5 Crowes tunes, and that’s REALLY saying something. Eddie’s piano work rivals Layla in its sheer, utter beauty. Spine-chilling stuff.
